My personal background

I’m a migrant too! I was born in England and got my degree in Italy. Whilst studying I worked in France and Italy. After graduation I worked in England and married my italian/australian husband. Several years later my husband was transferred by his employer to Taiwan. From there I applied for a partner visa to migrate to Australia.

So I’ve experienced moves of every sort, temporary to permanent migration, student travels on the cheap to business class corporate placements. This rich experience gives me an understanding –  what my clients aspire to and what they are going through. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my travels but seem to have settled down now!

My professional background

On leaving school I spent 3 years working in a local wine merchants where I saw most aspects of managing a small successful business.  This gave me a taste for business and off I went to University to study European Business with Production Technology. The next 4 years I was immersed in how big business works and undertook six month placements as a student production engineer at both an SKF factory in Italy and a mid-sized electronics factory in the South of England.

After graduation I worked for the British Post Office in Product Development and Sales Management roles. I was based at the Strategic Headquarters of the parcels division.  Early on in my career I managed a Year2000 business project where I learnt project management skills. Throughout this time I managed people, significant budgets and developed strategy.

In Australia I’ve worked for an American Fortune 500 company. A technical sales role, I travelled around Victoria and Tasmania visiting customers and distributors. After a few years I moved back into a Product Management role covering Australia and New Zealand.

This professional experience has given me the patience to deal effectively with bureacracy and the organisational skills to manage a migration agency. My specific corporate background means I am adept at writing business cases, job descriptions and business plans – all useful skills when representing clients.
